A Minister's Dedication

Well, This isn't really a blog, It's A Minister's Dedication. This is what I have sworn before the Lord to do, and I wanted to share it with you: Here it is: To this day that is mine, my country's and my God's, I dedicate my all, My talents, every one, shall be held subject to the sight draft of the emergencies of others. I will enlarge my soul by cultivating love for those from whom I find myself recoiling. No man shall ever feel his color or his caste in my presence, for within my heart of hearts there shall be no conciousness of it.

The man who has fallen shall find me a friend, the woman down, a helper. But more than this, those falling shall have my trust that they may stand again. The cry of every child shall find my heart whether cry of need or of aspiration. Not one of all the nation's "little one's" shall be despised. Cherishing every life of whatever land or race and mindful of hidden struggles in all things I will strive to help and to serve.

No word shall ever pass my lips that hurts another in things of face, form, station, or estate. My own weaknesses, my foilbles, and my sins shall chasten speech and deny my pride. My life shall be a dedicated thing. I shall count it desecration to pervert it. The vandal hands of lust and hate and greed shall not be permitted to despoil.

And thus I resolve, not because I am good, but that I want to be; not because I am strong, but that I feel weakness, Not that I feel above others; but with all my soul, I long to be one of humankind, both helped, and helper. So do I dedicate my days. So do I set apart my culture. So do I recieve but also give to others. So do I press humbly into the presence of the sacrificial Son of Man, crying out in eager consecration, "Let me follow Thee, Master." wherever the world still needs ministry, wherever life is still to be given for many.

Help me, Thou whose manger cradle brought democracy to light, to meet in my own worth democracy's final test and to my own great day be true.

The Miracle of Childbirth

Good Morning, This is a great time in my life as my little girl was born yesterday, and Loving God like I do, I simply had to thank Him and pay tribute on this joyous occasion. So as always, we will pray to start off here.

Loving God, thank you for the gift of Hailey Grace into our lives.Thank you especially for her safe delivery, the strength of her mother, and the support of the Kelly and Pully families. You know how eagerly this family has anticipated Hailey joining us. Rejoice with us, as we welcome Hailey Grace and guide her to grow strong, healthy, and beautiful in your name. Amen.

Yesterday, I witnessed the miracle of human birth. So what was I thinking about? Well, I'll be honest with you, the main thing I was thinking about was the tremendous amount of pain and endurance that women must endure in childbirth, and that I was terribly sorry for my wife, and at the same time extremely grateful that God didn't choose to make men the bearers of Children! Of course secondly, I was thinking about God. If seeing the miracle of childbirth dosen't convince you that there is a purposeful creator of this universe, then I suppose that nothing ever will.

So I wanted to talk about babies and the first thing I wanted to do of course was look to the Scripture to see what we can find out there. John 16:21, A woman, when she is in labor is sorrowful because her hour has come, but as soon as she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because a human being has been born into the world. Psalm 127:3 says Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.

I'd like to share a poem with you now and if you have children, I think you will really enjoy this, It's called

Where Children Live

You may not find things all in place
Friend, when you enter here
But we are a home where children live,
We hold them very dear

And you may find small fingerprints,
And smudges on the wall
When the kids are gone we'll clean them
Right now we are playing ball

For there's one thing of which we are sure
These children are on loan
One day their always underfoot
The next day they are gone

Then we'll have a well kept house
When they're off on their own
Right now this is where children live
A loved and lived in home.

Thank you guys for watching my videos and reading my blogs, and thank you for sharing this very special moment with me, and worshipping with me.

In closing, I would just like to pray again

Heavenly Father,
We thank you for these Blessed Children. Please keep them, hand help us to raise them up in a way that is pleasing to you.
In Jesus Name.
Amen

The Obvious Question

The Obvious Question.

Well, Where do I start? I must first admit that with the behaviour that some of you had come to know me for, I am amazed that more people did not laugh, or say "Bryan Pully!? A minister!? COME ON MAN?! what's he up too?" when this Ministry suddenly came about. In Fact, No one has questioned it at all. (to me) anyway. Instead, The Pully Ministry/Home Church of Christ and our Bible Drive, has received unbridled support!. Your Generosity has suprised me, and humbled me, and has continued to fill me with the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ that I in turn, am using to Minister The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to those who hunger to hear it.

But, There is one question that I have been asked repeatedly, and I suppsose that it is the Obvious one....WHY? So I guess it's time to answer that question, so that we may continue to move forward in the work of our Glorious God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. First of all, I've always been a Christian. I attended Church in my youth whenever possible, and attended Vacation Bible School at Smyrna Baptist Church in Dinwiddie County for many of my summers. I still remember singing Jesus Loves me better than Ice Cream, Father Abraham, and many others with Mrs. Newman and other members of the staff. In fact, one of my most prized possesions was the hardback Bible that they gave me in 1986. I treasured it for many years until my roommates dog ate it several years ago! That broke my heart!. My mother Nancy Pully is a Christian, and in all of the years that she raised us, through hardships, and horrendous trials and tests of faith, through the pain of loss of members of her family, and many other things, I never once saw that woman waiver in her faith in Jesus Christ. That's my foundation in Christianity, and a pretty good one at that.

However, fast forward 20+ years! The last 6 years of my life have been wonderful! an absolute gift of God. I met my wife Jennifer in 2005, we married 2 years later, and we are expecting our daughter Hailey Grace Pully to be born around July 22nd! God is Good! Praise His Name! So what happened was this, Somewhere along the line of these wonderful things happening to me in the last 6 years, A nice place to live, great friends, a beautiful, kind, loving, CHRISTIAN, caring, generous, selfless wife, inheriting a Fantastic family of in-laws who have loved and cared for me as much as anyone ever has, (THE KELLY'S I love you all), a great house with lots of land, and the beautiful Angel that the Lord has seen fit to give us, I forgot to thank Him. Well, It was more of a slowly forgetting him type thing.

With having a wife, and bills to pay, and grass to cut, and a baby coming, and rooms to paint, and a 6 day a week job etc. slowly, but surely, My Love and reverence for our Saviour Jesus Christ found it's way to all powerful BACKBURNER! To the nether-realm of the back of my mind. Always there mind you, just way in the back of the closet. I loved the Lord sure, but I did'nt tell Him anymore. I did'nt thank Him anymore. I did'nt ask Him for anything anymore. And eventually, you know it, I quit talking to Him at all. He got on my to do list. Church. Prayer. Thanksgiving. Worship. Reading the Bible. Telling my wife about Jesus. All on the to-do list. RIGHT BEHIND EVERYTHING ELSE!

So if you are a Christian, I don't have to tell you what happened next, I began to lose sight of my goals. Everyday became just like the one before it, and just like the next day. I began to be unhappy. Nothing was as meaningful to me as it should have been. I began to not be appreciative of the things that I had. I began to feel empty, and alone. Like I just had no purpose, At 32 years old, With EVERYTHING GOING MY WAY! , I began to feel like I was going to live and die for absolutely no reason at all. Bryan Pully of whom I had once been so proud to be, was going to just be a blip on the radar of life. I felt that there was no reason at all for my being.

Then a friend of mine asked me to be in his wedding. I was honored to do so, and It was a wonderful thing to uplift my spirits. It was there, as the preacher read the marriage ceremony that the long lost Holy Spirit re-entered my heart. James Edmonds (The Groom) told me that day that he had become and Ordained Minister in order proceed over his parents vow re-newals. I thought that was pretty neat, but did'nt think much of it at the time. But, the word Minister, stuck in my head. Minister. Minister. Minister. Hmmmmn.

The very next morning, My wife went to work 2 hours before me. It was just like any other morning. She kissed me goodbye, and then headed out. A few minutes later, as I sat up in the bed, I felt absolutley terrible. Sick. Not sick like I had a cold, but sick in my soul, unhealthy, Spiritually Dead. It was at this moment, that I realized that If i did not change the way that I was living, WITHOUT GOD, WITHOUT MY SAVIOUR IN MY HEART, WITHOUT THE GRACE AND SALVATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, that i just could'nt go on any longer. So I grabbed my Bible, and I didnt even open it, but I cradled it to my chest, and I prayed. And I Prayed, And I prayed, and I prayed. For 2 solid hours with my eyes shut tight and my heart wide open I prayed for Jesus, the Messiah, The Prince of Peace, The Saviour, Immanuel, Yeshua, God With Us, Christ to come back into my life Not like before, but like NEVER BEFORE. I prayed for him to give life back to my heart. To ressurect my love for him, like he ressurected himself for us. I prayed..........

Two days later, with the advice from my friend, I was a Legally Ordained Minister. But if you ask me who Ordained me, I will tell you that JESUS CHRIST ordained me. Within the next 3 weeks, I celebrated, the launch of the Pully Ministry Facebook Page which has 58 "likes", the Launch of the PullyHomeMinistryServices Website which has received nearly 400 hits. The launch of the PullyMinistry/Home Church of Christ Youtube Channel, on its way to 100 Views, and the Ministrys Bible Drive, which after today has donated over 60 bibles to Scripture Hungry people around the world.

What Did I say when I was praying that morning?.....AMEN.

My First In Home Service/Dedication Of The New Home Church Of Christ

My First In Home Service

Good Morning Everybody! I just did my First In Home Sunday Morning Service, and I wanted to Share the Format of what I did with everyone and see what you think. First, I would like to Announce that I enjoyed preaching very much, It was very humbling, and Powerful! It was like drinking a Spiritual Redbull! If you've ever experienced the Holy Spirit, You know what I mean!. So, heres what we did.

Hymn: He Turned The Water Into Wine

Dedication of The New Home Church Of Christ

Call To Worship

Hymn: Amazing Grace

Invocation/Lords Prayer

Sermon: Making The Case For Home Worship

Closing Prayer

Hymn: Where You There When They Crucified My Lord

Now that is the Format that I used for Services. Here is the Dedication, Call To Worship, Invocation, Some talk about the Sermon, and the Closing Prayer.

Dedication

According to the New Testament, Jesus, who is called The Christ, laid the foundation for the beginning of his Church through His birth, life, ministry, death, burial, and ressurection. This plan culminated on the Day of Pentecost. Within the pattern of the New Testament church we discover two Christian Ordinances: (1) Baptism the initial rite, by which through obedience the penitent beleiver dramatizes his new relationship to Christ as he enacts the death,burial,and ressurection of The Lord Jesus Christ. (2) The Lord's Supper, instituted on the night before His betrayal, by which Christians "as often as they partake" are reminded of the suffering and sacrificial death of Christ upon the Cross, that the world might be redeemed. We the members of The New Home Church of Christ, in order to promote the work of the Church in the spirit of Christ, and thus advance His Kingdom, do this day covenant and agree that together we will strive to bring His Kingdom on earth. The purpose of this local Church shall be, as revealed in the New Testament, to win people to faith in Jesus Christ and commmit them actively to growth in Grace and in Knowledge of Christ, that increasingly they may know and do his will; to work for the untity of all Christians and with them engage in the building of the Kingdom of God.

Call to Worship

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

Invocation/ Lords Prayer

Our Father and our God, we humbly come before Thee in these quiet moments, seeking to Worship Thee, we trust, in spirit and in truth. Give us open minds, responsive hearts, that we may strengthen each other as our spirits drink deeply from the everlasting fountain of thy Love. Through Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

Sermon

The basis for my Sermon this morning was my first blog entitled Making The Case For Home

Worship. I read from it, and throughout reading it, stopped to discuss things that came into my heart as I read it. The message was that there are many ways to Worship God, including prayer and goodwill in general. Worshipping is something that should be done humbly and sometimes privately, instead of something to proudly boast about. Church is good, and you should attend when you can, but THE ACT of going to Church in itself, escpecially just to say that you did, is not going to get you into Heaven. We need to Worship WHENEVER WE CAN, WHEREVER WE CAN, and we need to do it sincerely. Amen.

Closing Prayer

Lord, Make me an Instrument of Thy Peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt,faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light; and

where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much

seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;

to be loved, as to love;

for it is in giving that we receive;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

and it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life. Amen

Well, There it is! I wish you could have heard the whole Sermon. There were points where the words were flying out of my mouth faster than I could think them, It was almost as if I were listening to someone else! So I hope you like what you are reading and if you have time please tell me what you think of the Service that I put together! Thank you and God Bless you All.

Making The Case For Home Worship

By Bryan Pully (Gospel Minister)

There is much more to Worshipping God than just going to Church. There are many ways to Worship God in our everyday lives that do not include going to Church. There are lots of people these days who go to Church every Sunday without fail! Never missing a beat! And they'll let you know it! Yet for the rest of the week, there is no mention of God in their lives and they do not pray to Him or read the Bible! You may go to Church every Sunday and not Worship the rest of the week, That does not make you Religious. People want to Worship on Sunday but when they get home, there is no room for God, no time. What about you? Is God on the outside of your life looking in? Lets take a few minutes to go over some other ways that we can Worship.

First, am I saying that you should never go to Church? No! Absolutely not! Going to Church is important, and part of that importance is Worshipping in a group. People feel bad because they can not make it to Church every weekend. Don't feel bad! I think it is important to expose your children to the Church, but if you are a busy professional or retired and your Children are grown, I think it's o.k. for you not to go to Church.

One very important way to Worship God everyday is to pray! TALK TO GOD! Pray for your loved ones and for others. Don't always just pray for yourself and tell God what things you want. Just be sure that when you talk to God, thank Him for all the wonderful things He does and for all the blessings in your life.

Another way is to be nice to people. Don't be nasty and talk about people that you don't like behind their backs. When someone does you wrong, dont hate them, and dont try to get revenge on them. It takes a very strong and humble person to Forgive someone. So when someone makes you angry, just be the bigger man and walk away, dont stew and be angry! Remember the Ten Commandments! It is up to God to judge people, not us. Being nice to people is a way to Worship God because that is what he wants.

Two other easy ways to Worship are 1. Keep a prayer book. Write your prayers down for God everyday and tell him what you are thankful for in your life. Write him letters about things that concern you and areas of your life that you need His help. This is an excellent way for you to Worship the Lord and build a personal relationship with Him. 2. Volunteer your services. Wether it be something you can do for the Church or anything that you can do that is Goodwill. Remember, Goodwill to each other is what God wants from us. A personal relationship with God, and Goodwill to your fellow man are both exellent ways to Worship the Lord without going to Church.

In closing, I am not saying that you should never go to Church, For in the Book of Matthew 18:20 Our Lord Jesus said " For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." So yes! when we have time to go to Church or on Important Holidays, We should go to Church.

On the other hand, To make the case for Worshipping at home, Again in the Book of Matthew 6:1-7 Our Lord Jesus also said "Beware of practicing your Worship before men, to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in Heaven. "So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues, and in the streets so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. "But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. So that you're giving will be done in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have received their reward in full." "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees what is done in secret will reward you." And when you are praying, Do not use meaningless repetition like the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard by their many words. So do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him,

"Pray then, in this way

"Our Father, Who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be Your Name,

Your Kingdom Come,

Your Will be done,

On earth as it is in Heaven,

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our debts, As we have forgiven our debtors,

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from evil,

For yours is the Kingdom, and the Power,

And the Glory Forever, Amen.
